Â鶹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø State Wildcats

When it comes to Â鶹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø sports, the rivalry between the Â鶹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø State Wildcats and the Â鶹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø University Jayhawks is infamous. KSU has 12 recognized, competitive sports teams. Some of these include football, basketball, volleyball, rowing, and golf. With teams playing in the NCAA and the Big 12 Conference, the purple and white reign over Manhattan. Â鶹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø State University was founded in 1863 as the state's land-grant college and was the state's first public institution of higher education. 

Since 1986, Â鶹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø State ranks first nationally among public universities in its total of Rhodes, Marshall, Truman, Goldwater, and Udall scholars with 124 recipients.

Â鶹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø State University has also received several awards and recognitions in recent years for student life, including the prestigious #1 spot on the Princeton Review's list of Colleges with the Happiest Students.
