Meet our writer.
My name is Kristen D., and I am from California (the city, not the state). I discovered my passion for writing when I was a teenager thanks to amazing books and teachers. After graduating high school, I went on to attend OTC in Springfield, MO where I studied education. I have worked with Vacations Made Easy since February of 2015, and I have enjoyed every minute of it.
As for my personal life, I love spending time with my family, friends, fiance, and my dogs and cats. I am extremely passionate about animal rescue, and I consistently foster young kittens and puppies who need a jump start in life. I am also currently training my dog to become a therapy animal so we can visit hospitals and nursing homes.
When I am not working with animals, I can be found drawing, writing, reading, and playing video games such as Elder Scrolls Online (my current addiction). My fellow BLT writer, Kelsey, and I also have some fun adventures outside of work. We are apparently super amazing at Harry Potter trivia.
One of my favorite things to do is learn about different cultures, languages, and people in general. I think it really helps me to gain perspective into others’ lives, and I find it interesting. Some of my other hobbies include astronomy, geocaching, graphic design, and going to music concerts. I also enjoy travel and can’t wait to experience some of the gorgeous places that I write about. Recently, my fiance, James, and I have been planning our wedding. We will be tying the knot in May.
